checking out the ocean

One of the beauties of living here is that we are just one hour flight from the ocean. Saturday was a beautiful day so we took the Cessna to Robe. Over 3 hours in the car but just about 1 hour via air with folding pushbikes on the back seats.

The strip is only 5 km away from city centre - perfect for cycling.

I'm not a Mac-Freak like Ziggy but this thing has proven itself extremely handy in many circumstances

bikes are out and assembled - it only takes about a minute per bike

not sure what this one is all about - have to find out

We were thinking about staying over night but Ziggy wanted to do some glider flying on Sunday so we had to come back to Horsham.

We are heading to Waikerie on Friday for the first warm-up competition of the season. We'll be sharing the glider but since I'm current it's more about Ziggy practicing for the Nationals in January. I'm more than happy with playing the crew role this time.

Summer has arrived

Finally - this Winter seemed to be going on forever but we just had the first beautiful and warm weekend. Weekend full of flying.

Wilga came out of Tony's shop on Friday. She's all good and flying. The first flight was kind of funny. I got in with Griffo and we divided emergency tasks between the two of us. I was responsible for flying and he was supposed to be trying to get the engine going again in case it stopped. Luckily it never happened and I took Ziggy up. This was his first flight in Wilga. I promised him that 4 years ago when we first met in Hungary. Well, it took me a while but I kept my promise and made him happy on Friday.

On Sunday we hooked a glider up and she towed no problems so I think we're getting there:
