It's spreading

Ziggy is getting more and more enthusiastic about his big come back to radio controlled flying. He got even more excited when he received an email from Mike with the historic competition results from 2006. Ziggy finished 15th out of over 60 competitors. "I didn't even remember being that good" - he said.

Hopefully his brand new glider will not end up like Paul's did last weekend:

In the meanwhile the workshop is spreading all around the house and the new Supra made it to the living room this afternoon. The spare bed room designated for storage is not big enough.

But when the night comes ... best things happen. The kitchen counter and dining table convert to work benches and nothing else exists. Enjoy it!

Weekend in Adelaide

We drove down to Adelaide for the weekend where Ziggy showed me around town and all the places they lived   in after they arrived to Australia 26 years ago. We also visited Ziggy's first proper work place - Royal Adelaide Hospital. The building is just huge and I can hardly imagine working there without getting lost.

The city itself is very nice and inviting with lots of parks, beautiful trees and flowers all along the streets. It has everything to offer starting with beaches and marinas for real coastal living and finishing up with endless views from the hills.

There is always another reason for going somewhere. This time it was the Milang model flying competition. We stopped over there on our way back to Horsham. Ziggy caught up with his old model flying buddies and they all already knew that he's coming back. News spread around really quickly over here.

Ziggy picked up his model which was assembled and fitted with servos. He also announced that I will be competing soon too. The boys got excited and I guess I don't have any other choice but to start practicing.

Luckily I don't have to learn on the fancy model and we have a simple electrical one for me to "crash". They all keep saying it's easy and I will pick it up in no-time but I have my doubts there. We shall see. In the meantime our house is getting crowded with models and other gadgets and "The Male" got involved in some weird never seen before activities setting it all up. I'm not sure if he knows what he's doing but it's interesting to watch. Have a look:

On the way back to Horsham we made a pit-stop and discovered something really cool. The toilet block had no power but sometimes people have to go when it gets dark. The principle was that every car has headlights. Two mirrors redirect the light into the toilets. How simple and brilliant is that?
