easter, birthday and the new arrival

It's been a beautiful Easter this year with tons of people around. Instead of getting some rest we all got tired. It was a lot of fun though.

and the best pizza ever

The best usually comes last. Yesterday was my birthday. It looks like I will not stay young forever ;-)
They couldn't time it any better. The new club arrival finally made his way to Horsham and touched down yesterday afternoon. Rob flew it in all the way from Queensland (7.5 hours flight). The Piper Pacer VH-MOM is finally here and will be used for towing and going to places.

I made it :-)

and feel more than welcome in my new home

There has to be a virgin flight at some stage and who would be more appropriate to commence this one than a true virgin. I flew few patterns with Rob yesterday and gave him a ride back to Melbourne this morning. He seemed quite sad to have to say goodbye to MOM. No wonder, it's a nice piece of airplane very well maintained and in a beautiful condition.

on the way back to YHSM

The weather just couldn't be better. Nice and smooth on the way out and a bumpy ride back. Cu's started popping at around 4000 ft in the early afternoon. There was quite a bit of x-wind back in Horsham. I wasn't to impressed with my yesterdays landings and concentrated even harder to make this landing a nice one. Everyone was watching anyways. It worked well. I'm surprised over and over again how nice and smooth landings can be in rough conditions. It's probably only because we concentrate so much to make it work. And it does. Well done MOM!

watch THE clock!

MOM in Romsey

After all my landing "s...s" and "f...s" yesterday I started developing a growing sympathy for MOM ... not to say that I'm falling in love ...
